6th July 2011 President Christine handed over the Chain of
Office to Ann Holland, Christine wished Ann well for the coming
year ahead.
President Ann Holland - Congratulations
Ann presented Christine with a thank you card and a beautiful
handbag and pashima as a memento of her year as President.
Warsop, Shirebrook and District Rotary President, André
Camilleri brought greetings and well wishes from his club.
President Ann then introduced her committee members.
Unfortunately Julia Wright (speaker finder) and Cynthia Parsons
(almoner) were not able to attend this meeting |

3rd July
Warsop Carnival
This years Carnival was very well supported once again, the
weather was good and our refreshment marquee was very busy.
President Ann's charity this year is Arthritis Research UK and
the proceeds from the Carnival refreshment marquee are to be
donated to this charity
We served home made cakes and sausage rolls, teas and coffees
it was hard work but very enjoyable and also profitable! I
think we made a profit in excess of £900 - well worth the hard
work and a very good start to Ann's Year

14th July
President Ann and many members went on a walk around Boon Hills
Farm , home to member, Lesley Palmer.
The weather was fabulous and everyone had a memorable time.
Member Ajit Singh had her sister staying with her so she enjoyed
the walk and friendship also.
After the walk the ladies had lunch at Langwith Community Hall
and then went to view the Flower festival and Well Dressing at
Holy Cross Church.

17th July All members of Warsop Inner Wheel and Warsop Rotary
Clubs were invited to the home of John and Christine Fretwell for
the "End of year Party"
Despite the weather a good time was had by all and Christine
provided an excellent buffet.

23rd July Many members of Warsop Inner Wheel attended a charity
event for the League of Friends.
The event was held in "Sheila's Award Winning Garden" it
was a very enjoyable afternoon with wine and nibbles served
outside. |

3rd August District Chairman Sue Curley came to our August
meeting at the Hostess Restaurant, she is pictured here with
president Ann Holland.
Sue told us about her family and life with friends in Rotary
and Inner Wheel, she wished that we should all enjoy Inner Wheel
and have fun.

11th August
Member Sue Goad and her husband Richard hosted approx 26
members for lunch in Teversal Manor Rooms.
Members were greeted by Sue and Richard with a Bucks Fizz
before setting out for a walk around the Teversal Trail arranged
by Marjorie Zillwood.
The weather was good and much friendship and enjoyment was had
by all, we had a short break to get our breath back at the highest
point of the Trail and had our photo taken in front of the
Statue of the Miner.
On our return we were provided with a fabulous two course lunch
with wine prepared and served by Sue, Richard and their son-in-law
Sayeed.
After lunch we were privileged to look around Teversal Manor
Gardens. |

8th September At our monthly meeting this month President Ann
warmly greeted Kathryn Leverett who is the Regional Fundraising
manager for Arthritis Research UK.
Kathryn gave us a
very informative talk which made us ware of the facts that; 10
million people visit their GP last year with Arthritis and related
conditions; there are 200 different forms of Arthritis; every year
15.000 children suffer from Arthritis; over £23 million is needed
to maintain medical research with 87p in the pound being spent on
the cause and yet only 2% of people in this country have ever
heard of Arthritis Research UK – amazing facts.

9th September Three members and partners attended the Inner
Wheel Club of Kirkby in Ashfield's "Red Tie
and Tiara" ball held at the
John Fretwell Centre.

President Ann hosted a coffee morning at John Fretwell Centre
to raise money for Arthritis research UK
The morning was well supported by local residents and local
Inner Wheel Clubs. District Chairman, Sue Curley and Immediate
Past Association President Pam McConnell also supported the event
and it was good to see them.
Tea. coffee and home made cakes were served by our members Sue
Goad, Terry Newton and Shirley Townroe.

22nd September 8 members walked around Clumber Park on a social
morning organised by Marjorie Zillwood
The weather was perfect and the group had a very enjoyable walk
around the lake with a break for lunch in the National Trust cafe
on site.
We also found, and picked, some fabulous red mushrooms
with white spots on, very pretty but not edible!!

5th October At the monthly meeting President Ann welcomed Chad
Editor, Tracey Powell who spoke to us about her career in
journalism.
Also at the meeting Ann welcomed guest, Susan Gillis who is
daughter of member Doreen Granger and also Vice President of Thane
Inner Wheel Club.
Member Marjorie Zillwood organised a raffle to raise money for
District Charity, Arthritis Research UK , Ruth Ullyott won the
flower arrangement donated by Marjorie. |

Members of Warsop Inner Wheel organised a walk and lunch
to celebrate "World Arthritis Day"
Members wore an orange corsage for the walk and Ajit Singh
provided a lunch of soup and roll, all money raised will go
towards the District Charity; Arthritis Research UK

4th November Member Ruth Ullyott held a coffee morning at her
home to raise money for Arthritis Research UK
Ruth welcomed guests into her home with President Ann and
member Doreen Granger.
Member Lesley Palmer sold home made cakes.
Gwynne was selling hand crafted jewellery.
Anne had a card and gift wrap stall.
A fabulous display of soft furnishings were available.
Sue had her Dress Agency.
President Ann and Doreen sold raffle tickets.
Member Anne Lyons sold tickets for a Gin Bottle.
Member Christine Fretwell sold Christmas Flower Arrangements.
Sue Goad and Angela Price are pictured her serving refreshments
in the kitchen - helped by many other members who are not in the
picture.
And some members just enjoyed the ambiance of the day and
rightly so! Books were available to buy in this room where
people sat with a coffee and browsed through them.

9th November 39th Charter at The Hostess Restaurant, Sookeholme.
President Ann welcomed everyone to Warsop's 39th Charter.
Ann is pictured here with her "rock" Brian who presented
her with these beautiful flowers.
The room looked lovely - Ann had chosen African Violets for the
table decorations with lilac napkins and a violet theme for the
top table arrangements (exquisitely done by member Marjorie
Zillwood)

President Marlene and secretary Anne.
Secretary Anne Lyons gave the apologies and roll call, she also
read out greeting from overseas Inner Wheel members sent to us via
our face book site.

The Vote of thanks was given by Sheila Laycock from the Inner
Wheel Club of Worksop.

13th November Remembrance Sunday.
Past President Christine Fretwell along with André Camilleri,
President of Warsop and District Rotary Club, attended the service
at the Cenotaph in Warsop.

17th November A joint fashion show was held at the John Fretwell
Centre by Warsop Inner Wheel and Francesca Page ladies wear shop
in Warsop.
President Ann opened the evening with a big welcome to everyone
attending and announced that the proceeds of the event would be
split between ARC and Meningitis Research UK.
Before the fashion show began guests enjoyed a light sandwich
supper and a chance to socialise.
Fiona from Francesca Page thanked everyone for attending, the
models for their hard work and the ladies in the audience for
their support over the last three years whilst she has been in
business in Warsop.
We all enjoyed a fabulous fashion show and went home with
plenty of ideas for Christmas outfits!!

24th November President Ann has had a busy day and in the
afternoon she attended the home of Overseas Organiser, Jan
Strachan for a knit and natter.
At this event members made 45 Joy bags and 20 baby bundles
which Jan is going to deliver to the Police Aid Convoy for
distribution.
The team also mad up a bran tub to be used on the Warsop
Christmas night.

1st December Members of Warsop Inner Wheel joined members of
Warsop, Shirebrook and District Rotary Club at Warsop Christmas
market.
We had a bran tub for children and the Rotary club had a
"Santa's Grotto" with Rotarian Ted Smith playing Santa.

7th December Christmas celebrations were held at Rose Cottage
Edwinstowe this year.
The majority of members attended and a fabulous evening of fun
and fellowship.
The meal was a bit "Fawlty Towers" in as much as we waited for
long periods of time in between courses and we didn't necessarily
get just what we had ordered!! However our waiter Dave,
entertained us all evening with his cheery smile and attitude -
nothing was too much trouble for him and because of him we laughed
all night - Thank you Dave.
Important to mention - when we did get the food - it was very
good!
President Ann thanked everyone for attending and Joan Pepperday
gave a toast to Inner Wheel.

2012 10th January
World Inner Wheel celebrations were held at the home of Jean
Nock and attended by many members of the club.
A lunch of soup and sandwiches was served and a raffle and
"bring and buy" stall generated a bit of money towards charity.
This was a very happy and social occasion to celebrate this
wonderful world wide organistion.

1st February Rotary President André Camilleri came to speak to
our club members tonight on the subject of hypnotherapy and
relaxation.
His talk was interesting and informative, he gave us
hints and tips on sleeping, relaxing and trying to control how the
mind works to overcome difficult times.
